TALC

It is common practice to use a mold release compound to assist in removing the wax pattern from the rubber mold. The 3 most common release compounds are:

• Silicon (liquid) spray
   
• Corn Starch
   
• Talc

Excessive use of any of these materials may cause interactions which may promote porosity. Never use over the counter bath & body powders. These powders contain compounds such as silicon and magnesium oxide. The oxide residue from these ingredients cannot be eliminated during the burnout procedure, which leaves the greatest potential for negative interaction.
